About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Warehouse Operations Manager to lead the safe, accurate and efficient day-to-day operation of our warehouse in Warrington.

This is a key operational leadership position, responsible for managing the warehouse team, maintaining high standards of stock accuracy and location control, and driving productivity and continuous improvement.

Working closely with Production, Export and the wider business, you will play an important role in ensuring we meet customer requirements while continuing to develop our warehouse processes, systems and ways of working.

We are looking for a visible, practical leader who takes personal accountability, enjoys being hands-on and is passionate about people, operational discipline, stock control and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Leadership & Operations

*

Lead, motivate and manage the warehouse team, allocating daily activities and supporting performance, attendance and development.

*

Manage daily receipt, put-away, storage, picking, staging and loading activities.

*

Maintain high standards of housekeeping, stock storage and operational discipline.

*

Work closely with Production to ensure completed goods are correctly identified, transferred, receipted and put away promptly.

WMS & Stock Control

*

Ensure effective and consistent use of WMS and Epicor across warehouse operations.

*

Maintain accurate physical and system stock locations, ensuring all receipts, movements, put-aways and picks are correctly recorded.

*

Own the site cycle-counting programme and investigate stock variances, stock-not-found incidents and location discrepancies.

*

Maintain appropriate controls for damaged, quarantined, unidentified, cancelled and obsolete stock.

Productivity & Continuous Improvement

*

Monitor warehouse performance against agreed KPIs, including stock accuracy, picking accuracy, failed picks, productivity and stock damage.

*

Identify opportunities to improve warehouse layout, storage capacity, material flow and labour productivity.

*

Use stock movement and min/max information to support effective product slotting and warehouse re-layout.

*

Support improvement projects involving new storage areas, material-handling equipment and third-party storage.

SOPs, Training & Compliance

*

Ensure warehouse employees follow agreed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and WMS processes.

*

Support the development and review of warehouse SOPs and ensure employees receive appropriate practical training and competency sign-off.

*

Champion a proactive Health & Safety culture, ensuring correct PPE, safe working practices and appropriate use of warehouse equipment.

*

Ensure forklift and material-handling equipment checks, defect reporting and safe operating requirements are maintained.

About You

We are looking for an experienced warehouse or logistics professional with a strong track record of managing people, stock and operational performance.

Able to effectively manage day-to-day operations while implementing positive change.
