Warehouse Operative

WAREHOUSE OPERATIVE (FORKLIFT / LOGISTICS)
Location: Small Dole, near Steyning, West Sussex
Salary: Up to £36,500 per annum
Job type: Full-time, permanent

ABOUT THE ROLE
A well-established manufacturer with an excellent reputation is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operative to join their team near Steyning. You will keep the warehouse running smoothly, managing goods in, storage, picking, packing and despatch of parts while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy and customer service. This is a hands-on logistics and warehouse role with full training provided on import/export documentation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive, book in and store goods (goods in)
- Pick, pack and prepare parts for despatch to a high standard
- Coordinate timely despatch and liaise with suppliers and transport providers
- Operate counterbalance forklift trucks (FLT) and handling equipment
- Maintain accurate stock records and inventory
- Support warehouse organisation, space utilisation and housekeeping
- Ensure full compliance with health and safety standards
- Support with import/export and shipping documentation (training provided)

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Strong warehouse experience
- Counterbalance forklift licence and mechanical handling experience
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft 365
- Experience with MRP or warehouse management systems
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to work under pressure and multitask
- Physically fit for warehouse duties
- Own transport (the site is not easily reached by public transport)

DESIRABLE
- Shipping, export or customs documentation experience (full training given)

PACKAGE
- Salary up to £36,500 per annum
