Warehouse Operative

Are you an experienced Warehouse Operative? Do you consider yourself to be proactive and an asset to a busy team? Are you based in or around Llanwern?
We have an initially temporary Warehouse Operative role available within TATA Steel's Llanwern works. This role is ideal for someone with manual handling skills and is adaptable, a good communicator and Health and Safety conscious.

Role: Warehouse Operative
Location: TATA Steel, Llanwern Works, Newport NP19 4QZ
Rate: £11.44ph basic with shift allowance (25%) £14.30ph
Contract length: 6 months initially
Shift Patterns: 37.5 hours per week, alternating weeks: Week one X4 12 hour shifts
and Week two X3 12 hour shifts

Responsibilities:
? Ensuring material is dispatched as per clients request
? Loading and receiving goods on an inbound and outbound basis
? Adhering to Health and Safety at all times and encouraging others on site to do the same
? General housekeeping including but not limited to stock takes, quality checks, reporting damages
? Operating machinery as part of the role (training provided)

Essential requirements:
? Previous experience within a Warehouse or Production environment
? Ability to work as a team-player
? Strong verbal and written communication skills
? Computer literate
? Good knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation
? Able to conduct manual handling duties including bending, lifting bulky items and being on foot for long periods

Desirable requirements:
? Driving licence and use of a car
? Knowledge of the Steel industry
