My Client is a family business with over 65 years of history. From their site in Burton, they supply musical instruments to schools, music services, families and musicians in the UK and around the world, as well as many national retailers and online marketplaces. Alongside well-known names like Yamaha, our own brands include A-Star classroom percussion, 3rd Avenue guitars, Axus keyboards, Forenza violins and Montreux brass and woodwind. Great customer service is at their heart and it's down to the whole team. The warehouse plays a big part in that, making sure every order goes out on time, well packed and arrives damage free. The role I am looking for a Warehouse Operative to join a small, friendly warehouse team, reporting to the Warehouse Manager. Everyone in the team multi-tasks, so there's plenty of variety once you know all the jobs. You'll start on picking and packing, which is the best way to learn our products and systems. From there, full training is given across goods-in, container unloading, stock and dispatch. The warehouse works closely with the office team on the same site, so there's lots of day-to-day contact with colleagues across the business. You don't need to have worked in a warehouse before, as we'll teach you how we like things done. What we need is someone sensible and practical who takes pride in their work. Essential • Physically fit and strong, as the role involves heavy lifting and handballing boxes from containers • Reliable and punctual • Common sense and good attention to detail • Communicates well and enjoys being part of a small team • Happy working in a typical warehouse environment, which can be hot in summer and cold in winter • Right to work in the UK Nice to have • Previous warehouse, picking or packing experience • Counterbalance forklift licence • An interest in music, though this isn't needed Hours, pay and benefits Monday to Friday days only, with no nights or weekends.
