Warehouse Team Leader

Our client is looking to appoint experienced team leaders, or those with the right attitude and aspiration to learn and develop the necessary skills to be successful in leading a diverse team within the fresh-produce sector.

Full support and training will be given including a 4-week structured induction programme.

Due to the location of our client, you will need to have your own transport.

You will work a 4 on 2 off rota after completion of training.

A day in the life…….

"You will communicate effectively with your team, as well as other supporting functions, such as the Transport team, and internal customers. You’ll give direct instructions for daily tasks; loading, unloading and moving pallets, conducting monthly feedback meetings with your team, and communicating across the business about issues impacting/affecting internal and external customers. When the day starts, so does your attention to safety, encouraging, supporting and challenging behaviours to deliver a safe working environment while demonstrating patience and resilience".

Key responsibilities:

• Coaching, developing and supporting the team to consistently meet performance standards
• Planning work patterns in conjunction with the Distribution Shift Manager
• Working collaboratively across departments, coordinating activity to meet daily objectives
• Regularly engaging with operatives to ensure understanding of the role and personal contribution to the continued success of the business
• Deputising for the Distribution Shift Manager as and when required

Skills and Experience:

• Ideally a minimum of one year’s experience in a warehouse related role
• Previously team leadership skills or the passion and desire to develop
• Excellent communication and team working skills
• Competent in problem solving and planning
