Warehouse Team Leader

We are looking for an experienced warehouse person to assist in leading our warehousing facility in Newport Pagnell.

Working in a small team of 3, this is a hands-on role for someone who is organised and physically fit. We receive around 40 containers per year for unloading by hand and we pick, pack and despatch approximately 35,000 Direct to consumer orders per year alongside bulk pallet orders to major UK retailers and smaller bulk despatches to our smaller retail and wholesale partners.

* Cover picker/packer/despatch duties during holiday, sick and peak periods

* Perpetual stocktaking

* Maintaining stock locations (computer based) and ensuring FIFO policies on all goods.

* Organising the picking locations to maximise efficiency for direct despatch picking/packing.

* Report basic metrics on pick/pack and assembly times and ensure that both speed and quality is maintained.

* Supplying weights and measures of products and packaging to the QC team

* Training staff on safe handling, duties, H&S and company policies and expectations

* Support at setting up/breaking down exhibitions inc. van driving

* Carry out risk assessments on the work environment and follow best practice Health & Safety

* Ensure machinery and racking is maintained and operated correctly – includes: forklifts, compactors, pump trucks, ladders etc.

* Manage and order consumable materials

* Work with the office to ensure we have best service and price from our couriers

* Assisting with the sampling of potential new products

* Keeping warehouse and external grounds clean and tidy

Essential

Experience/attributes:

* Highly organised

* Computer literate

* Friendly & approachable

* Team player

* REACH and Counterbalance forklift (or willing to be trained)

* Practical and willing to learn the light assemble

* Able to work with the management team and directors and able to manage up as well as down.

Hours:

Mon-Fri – 8.30am to 4.30pm with a half-hour for lunch
