Warehouse Team Leader

Pay: £12.71-£14.53 per hour

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Team Leader to oversee daily operations within our logistics and warehousing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing team activities, ensuring efficient materials handling, and maintaining high standards of safety and productivity. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in warehouse management, logistics, and process optimisation to lead a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

* Supervise and coordinate warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations in shipping, receiving, and inventory management.

* Oversee materials handling processes, including the utilisation of forklifts and other equipment, ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed.

* Implement process improvements to optimise workflow, reduce waste, and increase overall efficiency.

* Manage warehouse management system (WMS) data entry and updates using AS400 or similar platforms.

* Conduct regular safety inspections and enforce health and safety regulations across the warehouse.

* Lead team meetings to communicate targets, provide training, and foster a collaborative working environment.

* Oversee logistics operations including scheduling shipments and coordinating with third-party logistics providers (3PL).

* Assist in mechanical maintenance tasks as needed and possess basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues.

* Ensure compliance with shipping & receiving procedures, including documentation accuracy and timely dispatch of goods.

* Manage heavy lifting activities safely, ensuring proper techniques are used at all times.
