Job title: Waste Coordinator Job Type: Contract Start date: ASAP-Subject to clearance Rate: £DOE Location: Seascale/Whitehaven-Minimum 3 days per week Hours of work: 40 Hours Per Week
Essential Requirements * Current Plant Solid Waste Coordinator SQEP * Knowledge of radioactive waste packaging, transport, and disposability assessment processes. * Applicable experience working on nuclear waste management projects within nuclear site environment. * Thorough understanding of site waste management arrangements, processes, routes, and governance requirements. * Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and engaging effectively with operations, engineering, waste management, and project stakeholders. * Ability to provide informed advice, drawing on site and plant experience to influence project decisions and optimise waste outcomes. * Strong communication and technical authoring skills, including the production and review of waste management documentation and technical justifications.
Desirable Requirements * Demonstrable plant-based experience, with a strong understanding of operational challenges and interfaces within nuclear facilities. * Ability to challenge established approaches and identify pragmatic, innovative waste solutions while maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. * Strong understanding of waste hierarchy principles and opportunities for waste minimisation, segregation, characterisation, treatment, and disposal.
