Waste Service Co Ordinator

Pay Rate: £20.97 per hour

Location: Angus

Contract: Initial 6-month contract with potential extension

Hours: Full Time

Blue Arrow is currently recruiting for an experienced Waste Services Co-ordinator on behalf of a prestigious public sector organisation based in Angus. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with management experience and knowledge of waste management operations to join a busy and essential service on an initial six-month contract, with the possibility of extension. Based on the job outline and person specification provided for the Waste Services Co-ordinator role.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the customer care function within Waste Management.
Oversee the day-to-day operation of commercial waste services.
Manage environmental enforcement activities, including fly-tipping, littering, dog fouling, and abandoned vehicles.
Coordinate performance monitoring and reporting through relevant databases and management systems.
Procure goods and services in line with organisational procedures and financial regulations.
Lead and support frontline teams, providing guidance and operational direction.
Deliver staff briefings, presentations, reports, and attend stakeholder meetings.
Maintain knowledge of current waste management legislation and policy developments.
Build effective relationships with internal teams, businesses, external organisations, and members of the public.

What We Are Looking For

Essential

Previous experience managing staff.
Strong knowledge of waste management and environmental services.
Understanding of relevant waste management legislation.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
Ability to prioritise workloads and make informed decisions.
Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.

Desirable

HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject.
Membership of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management (CIWM).
Knowledge of national waste policy.
