Wastewater Modelling Lead - Associate Technical Director / Technical Director

Role description:

We are actively seeking an Associate Technical Director / Technical Director to join and lead our Wastewater Modelling capability. In this role, you'll play a pivotal role in establishing and consolidating relationships across Arcadis and our client base, managing the technical delivery and modelling outputs of some of the UK's most complex and stimulating projects in the Water sector.

The role would sit within our Resilience Global Business Area, where we work to protect our natural environment and water resources, while powering our world for future generations. Around the world, we’re feeling the effects climate change, rapid urbanization, loss of biodiversity. The rate at which we’re seeing large-scale, unforeseen events such as floods and wildfires, is becoming more frequent. Role accountabilities:

• In depth experience of the UK regulated water sector


• Ability to use InfoWorks ICM software and lead the technical delivery of wastewater modelling projects


• Prepare client proposals, lead on presentations to prospective clients, bidding/tendering for internal and external opportunities


• Establish and grow relationships with clients and partners on project technical, commercial and progress matters


• Ensuring projects meet required technical, legislative, quality, safety and environmental standards and objectives


• Identify and develop innovative and optimised technical solutions based on client needs and drivers


• Capability leadership and line management, mentoring, and performance development responsibility for assigned staff

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Environmental Engineering or other directly related degree.


• Preferably Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status and membership of a professional institution such as ICE, or CIWEM 


• Strong commercial awareness


• Significant experience in technical delivery of wastewater modelling projects


• Capability / team leader with collaborative behaviours


• Desired knowledge of Nature based Solutions (NbS) and SuDS
