We are recruiting an experienced Water Services Supervisor (SAP) to join a professional Facilities Management team supporting a major healthcare estate in West London.
This is a key leadership role responsible for the management, compliance, governance and performance of water safety and hygiene activities across a complex hospital environment.
The successful candidate will act as the Site Authorised Person (SAP) for Water, providing technical leadership across water safety, hygiene, maintenance, compliance and assurance.
π§ Key Responsibilities
π¨βπ§ Lead, supervise and develop a team of Water Technicians. βοΈ Act as Site Authorised Person (SAP) for Water, providing technical leadership. π₯ Manage the site's water management programme within a live healthcare environment. π Ensure compliance with ACoP L8, HTM 04-01, HSG274, SFG20 and relevant legislation. π§ Maintain and improve the Water Safety Plan, written schemes, procedures and compliance documentation. π Manage water hygiene risk assessments, monitoring, sampling and PPM activities. π¨ Investigate water-related incidents, non-conformances and compliance issues. π Lead audits, inspections and assurance activities, ensuring actions are completed. π Analyse compliance data and report performance, risks and recommendations to senior management. π€ Manage specialist water hygiene and treatment contractors, challenging poor performance where required. π οΈ Provide technical support to engineering, maintenance and project teams. ποΈ Support commissioning, validation and handover of water systems following project works. π» Maintain accurate digital records, logbooks, risk registers and compliance information. π‘οΈ Coordinate responses to water-related incidents and emergency situations. π¦Ί Promote strong Health & Safety, accountability and continuous improvement across the function.
π¨βπ§ Requirements
π§ Proven experience in water hygiene, water safety, water treatment or water compliance. βοΈ Previous experience as a Supervisor, Lead Engineer, Authorised Person, Senior Technician or similar. π₯ Healthcare, hospital or other complex/critical environment experience is highly desirable. π Strong knowledge of ACoP L8, HTM 04-01, HSG274 and SFG20. π§βπΌ Experience leading technical teams and managing specialist contractors. π Strong understanding of Legionella control, water hygiene risk assessments and compliance. π Experience with audits, inspections, compliance documentation and assurance. π» Familiarity with eLogbooks, Zetasafe or similar systems. π C&G Level 3 in Mechanical, Plumbing, Water Treatment or related discipline, or equivalent. π¦ Legionella Awareness training. π HTM 04-01 Responsible Person training, or willingness to obtain. π§ Strong technical, problem-solving and decision-making skills. π¬ Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. πͺ Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of site-wide responsibilities. π Willingness to travel between sites when required.
β Desirable
π₯ NHS, private healthcare or major hospital experience. π§ Experience managing water systems across large, complex estates. π¦ Strong practical Legionella and water hygiene experience. βοΈ Mechanical, Plumbing or Water Treatment background. π§ͺ Experience with water sampling, temperature monitoring, flushing, disinfection and remedial works. π Experience reporting to Water Safety Groups or senior management. ποΈ Experience supporting construction, refurbishment or engineering projects. π¨ Experience managing water-related incidents and emergency responses. π Experience driving continuous improvement across technical services.
