Water Treatment Plant Operative

We are currently recruiting for a Water Treatment Plant Operative working as part of our Engineering department at our potato packing site in Boston, Lincolnshire.

This role is crucial to ensuring that our water treatment processes are running efficiently and effectively. As a Water Treatment Plant Operative, you will be responsible for the monitoring, operation, and maintenance of our water treatment systems, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations while delivering high-quality water for our production needs.

Shift & Hours of work: Wednesday to Saturday - fixed shift, working 06:00hrs to 18:00hrs (Wednesday 12:00hrs to 18:00hrs)

Salary: £13.46 per hour

Responsibilities

• Undertake all daily tasks on water treatment plant including pressing off, chemical dosing, checking levels of water and chemical
• Liaise with the Engineering Manager to order chemicals as stock is used
• Assist engineers with any required plant maintenance tasks
• Ensure the plant and area is kept safe, clean, and tidy.
• Complete all the required records regarding chemical dosing etc.
• Communicate with the Engineering Manager to support the Maintenance Engineers as and when required
• Ensure applicable Health & Safety and Environmental procedures are strictly adhered to.
• Take daily water meter readings and report to engineering management
• Check all site fuel tanks daily and report levels
• Cut field grass with tractor driven equipment as required

• Experience in water treatment operations or a similar role is preferred.
• Basic mechanical and engineering knowledge related to water treatment processes and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and compliance.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, while also being self-motivated.
• Good communication skills for liaising with team members and management.
• Familiarity with health and safety practices in an industrial environment.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methods in water treatment.
