A rapidly expanding fibre broadband provider is rolling out its network across the UK and needs a skilled Wayleave professional to help drive progress. This role is key to unlocking access to properties, ensuring infrastructure can be installed legally, efficiently, and on time.
About the Role
You'll be at the heart of a fast-moving project team, responsible for securing the legal permissions needed to bring high-speed broadband to homes and businesses. From negotiating with landowners to ensuring legal compliance, you’ll play a vital role in keeping the rollout on track.
This role blends legal understanding, stakeholder management, and hands-on problem-solving—ideal for someone commercially aware, detail-focused, and confident on the phone or in the field.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Secure wayleaves, easements, and consents for telecoms installations on public and private land
  • Carry out land searches and desktop audits to confirm ownership and permissions
  • Negotiate access terms with landlords, housing associations, councils, and managing agents
  • Align permissions with project timelines by working closely with build, planning, and installation teams
  • Conduct site visits to verify access and collect documentation
  • Ensure full compliance with the Electronic Communications Code (ECC) and planning regulations
  • Track progress, flag issues, and keep stakeholders in the loop
  • Build strong relationships with legal contacts, local authorities, and property owners
Essential Skills and Experience
  • At least 2 years in a wayleave, land access, or similar permissions-based role
  • Working knowledge of UK property law, the ECC, and telecoms or utilities sectors
  • Confident negotiator, able to handle multiple conversations and deadlines at once
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
  • Experience with land/property databases (Symology a bonus)
  • Able to work independently and handle occasional site visits
What’s on Offer
  • £40,000 – £50,000 per annum
  • Company car and fuel card
  • Life insurance
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Strong potential for career progression in a growing national business
