Job Description - Website Designer

Jarilo Design are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and highly motivated Web Design professional to join its ever-growing company based in the Wirral.

Role Summary
As a member of the Web Design team you will be responsible for the design, layout and coding of a website. You will be involved with the technical and graphical aspects of a website - how the site works and how it looks. You will also be involved with the maintenance and update of an existing site.
We are looking for a self-motivated and experienced Web Designer to join our busy team. You should have proven expertise in Web Design skills including excellent skills in software programming and graphics, creativity and great communication skills. There is a huge opportunity for the right candidate to start running your own team in this area.
You should be an excellent team player with the ability to build relationships with customers and colleagues of all levels, an eye for detail, great organisational skills and the ability to confidently manage a demanding workload as part of a small but committed team.
You could work on any kind of website, from education to shopping. You’ll often be responsible for managing the design of your client’s other online services like mobile applications, social media accounts and digital marketing campaigns. Experience using Elementor is preferable.

Key Responsibilities
The essential functions of this role include, but are not limited to;


Build and maintain multiple WordPress websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, React and Next.js



Work on full design and build projects from brief to launch and beyond



Conducting needs assessments to determine the client's requirements for website



Developing design concepts and strategies tailored to the client's brand identity and target market



Advising on responsive design principles to ensure the website is accessible and user-friendly across various devices and screen sizes



Recommending best practices for search engine optimization (SEO), usability, and accessibility compliance


Coordinating with developers, graphic designers, and content creators to ensure seamless execution of the design project



Verifying that the website meets design specifications and aligns with the client's goals and objectives



Providing training and documentation to clients on how to manage and update their website content using content management systems (CMS) or other tools



Continuously researching and staying informed about emerging trends, technologies, and design principles in the field of web design



Provide training to less experienced Web Designers and new starters

Person Specification

Essential Requirements for the role
Knowledge and Training


Minimum of 3 years of commercial experience in front-end web development/web design


Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, React and Next.js


Experience developing WordPress and WooCommerce websites


Strong understanding of user experience principles and best practices


Experience in designing and developing responsive design websites using Elementor


Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail


Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team and fast paced environment


Experience in Visual Design


Experience with UX (User Experience)


Comprehensive IT skills including Photoshop, Illustrator, using coding software such as HTML and CSS, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Email, Social Media, and the Internet


You will have knowledge and experience in cross-functional CRM and Lead


Generation methods and techniques


Excellent communication skills including over the phone, face to face, email and social media blogging


You have the desire to learn new skills and improve on your own knowledge
