Weighbridge Administrator - Weighbridge Operator

Location: North-West Leicestershire

Salary: £35,000- £36,500

Hours: 7.00am to 4.30pm -Monday-Friday

About the Company:

Our client is a multi-site group of companies specialising in aggregates supply, including quarrying, tipping, recycling, merchanting, and haulage services to the construction industry throughout the Midlands. They operate a large fleet of vehicles and some of the largest inert tipping facilities, quarrying, and recycling high-quality aggregate products in the region.

Due to growth and expansion, we are recruiting for a new Weighbridge administrator/operator to be based at a new site for the business on a permanent basis. The company prioritise health and safety in all our operations and they are committed to improving our local environment and encourage wildlife around our sites.

Purpose of Role:

The primary function of this role is to ensure each lorry load and the relevant paperwork are processed efficiently and timely through the site computer system. When the weighbridge is quieter, the role also involves supporting the finance team with processing invoices and other administrative duties.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Meeting and greeting customers at the weighbridge
  • Efficiently processing weighbridge tickets
  • Inputting data into computer systems
  • Scanning waste/weighbridge tickets into the system
  • Visually checking muck loads and directing them to recycling or tipping as per procedures
  • Answering team emails
  • Setting up new jobs on the system
  • Coding purchase orders for authorization
  • Ensuring purchase invoices are authorized by the appropriate personnel
  • Posting purchase invoices to the accounting system
  • Performing any ad hoc duties as required
Requirements:
  • Full driving license and own car (due to location)
  • Experience in a weighbridge and quarry environment or similar is advantageous (full training provided)
  • Professional demeanor with internal and external customers
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Professional and friendly telephone manner- good sense of humour essential!
  • Competent IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise tasks
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently
  • Hardworking and willing to be an integral part of a friendly and committed team
  • Ability to calmly deal with lorry drivers under pressure
