Welding Assessor

Workington

£36,000 + Government Pension scheme + 39 Days Holiday + Excellent Work-Life Balance

Are you an experienced Welder or Fabricator looking to move into a rewarding role where you can support and assess the next generation of skilled tradespeople?

Do you want to use your industry knowledge to help apprentices develop their skills while enjoying excellent benefits, job security, and a great work-life balance?

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of Cumbria's leading technical education providers, supporting welding and fabrication apprentices as they progress through their qualifications and develop the practical skills required by industry.
Working as part of an established engineering team, you will assess learners in both workshop and workplace environments, ensuring they are meeting qualification standards and developing the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed for successful careers within the welding and fabrication sector.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding and fabrication, hold a Level 3 qualification in Welding, Fabrication, or a related discipline, and be passionate about developing others. Previous assessing experience would be beneficial but is not essential, as training can be provided for the right individual.

The Role
* Assess welding and fabrication apprentices against qualification standards
* Carry out workplace and workshop-based assessments
* Support learners throughout their apprenticeship journey
* Liaise with employers, trainers, and curriculum teams to support learner achievement
* Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week

The Person
* Level 3 qualification in Welding Engineering, Fabrication and Welding, or a related discipline
* Industrial experience within welding and ideally fabrication
* Strong knowledge of welding processes, fabrication techniques, and industry standards
* Passionate about supporting and developing apprentices
