Full-Time Live-In Housekeeper – Sloane Square, Chelsea

A private household in Sloane Square, Chelsea is looking for an experienced, proactive and highly organised Live-In Housekeeper to join them on a permanent, long-term basis.

The family lives in a six-bedroom property and already employs a Nanny and Chef, so there are no regular childcare or cooking responsibilities.

The European Principal is in residence for approximately five months in total throughout the year, generally for periods of around 1-3 weeks at a time. When the Principal is not in residence, the Housekeeper will continue to look after and maintain the property, ensuring it is always kept ready for their return.

The family is looking for someone experienced, fit and active, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain the residence to hotel standards. It is particularly important that the successful candidate is proactive, notices what needs to be done and takes the initiative without having to be asked.

Duties

• Full housekeeping and maintaining the residence to excellent, hotel-level standards
  
  


• Cleaning, dusting, tidying and general organisation throughout the property
  
  


• Laundry and ironing
  
  


• Bed linen and general linen care
  
  


• Ensuring the property remains immaculate, organised and well maintained whether the Principal is in residence or away
  
  


• Preparing the property ahead of the Principal’s arrival
  
  


• Helping with the smooth day-to-day running of the household
  
  


• Working alongside and liaising with the Nanny, Chef, House Manager and other household staff
  
  


• Monitoring the property and flagging any maintenance issues requiring attention to the House Manager
  
  


• Taking initiative and dealing with tasks proactively
  
  


• Preparing a simple breakfast, such as porridge and smoothies, if required when the Chef is not available
  
  


• Other general housekeeping duties as required
  
  

There is no regular childcare required as the family employs a Nanny.

Property & accommodation

The family lives in a six-bedroom residence in Sloane Square with gym and spa facilities. The property must be maintained and presented to exceptionally high standards at all times. The property has a lift; however, the Housekeeper should have a good level of fitness, as the house is arranged over 6 floors and there are also a significant number of stairs.

The Housekeeper will be provided with private live-in accommodation consisting of a bedroom and bathroom within a self-contained flat with its own entrance.

Hours

Monday to Friday, approximately 8am–4/5pm.

Flexibility outside the usual schedule may occasionally be required, particularly when the Principal is in residence.

Start date

November preferred, although the family can be flexible for the right person.

Salary

£50,000–£55,000 gross per annum, with some flexibility for an exceptional candidate.
