Job Description - Wholesale Sales Account Manager

Job Title: Wholesale Account Controller

Location: Hybrid. Home based with travel to offices in London & Leeds. Attendance in the London office (Northdown House, 3rd Floor, 11-21 Northdown Street, London, N1 9BN) will most commonly be once per week or fortnight with regular travel to see customers, who are based around the country

Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum dependent on experience

Job type: Full time, Permanent

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic, commercially focused Wholesale Account Controller to manage and grow relationships with our key Wholesale customers in the UK. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our wholesale sales channel, driving sustainable, profitable growth, and ensuring the successful execution of strategic plans that align with Assisi Pet Care's overall business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Account Management: Maintain and develop strong relationships with key wholesale accounts, acting as the primary point of contact for day-to-day operations and strategic discussions.
  • Sales Growth: Drive volume and value growth through proactive business planning, range optimisation, promotional strategy, and pricing management.
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Collaborate with internal teams (finance, operations, and supply chain) to provide accurate forecasting, sales reporting, and market insight.
  • Business Development: Identify new wholesale opportunities and partnerships to expand Assisi's market presence.
  • Negotiation: Lead annual and ad hoc negotiations including terms, pricing, and promotional activity, ensuring sustainable and profitable outcomes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, category, and NPD teams to deliver compelling initiatives and tailored support for wholesale customers.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and customer feedback to adapt strategies and capitalise on opportunities.
  • Compliance: Ensure all activities adhere to company policies, industry standards, and customer agreements.

About you:

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within FMCG, ideally in the pet food or grocery sector.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of growing and managing wholesale accounts.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
