Mō te tūnga | About the role


 


We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our Canterbury District Workforce team based in Christchurch.


 


This role supports the Canterbury Police District team, managers, and staff to enable our people to deliver Our Business through management of rosters, abstractions, training certifications, deploy ability and job transfers.


 


In this role you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day variations arising in rosters resulting from unscheduled absences from duty, negotiated changes of duty, leave requirements, or other operational contingencies. You will also be required to match absence requests against the roster and process leave requests in accordance with authorised "minimum numbers" rules.


 


You will enjoy being part of a high functioning team, have sound judgment, an eye for detail and an ability to build rapport with a wide range of people from different backgrounds and cultures.


 


 


 


Key Accountabilities:


 



  • Manages day-to-day variations in employee and workgroup rosters to ensure the roster remains accurate and effective in meeting the workload demands of the district.

  • Managed mandatory training required for staff (eg PCT, Firearms, First Aid etc.)

  • Approves or declines leave or absence requests in accordance with agreed workgroup business rules to maintain optimum staffing levels.

  • Co-operate and work effectively with other team members/employees to achieve team goals and standards.

  • Prepare and present (written or verbal) information in a clear and concise way.

  • Enter, update and report on computer-based record keeping/filing systems.

Utu ā-tau | Salary


 


This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $63,526 and $66,312 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
