3 months contract with a local authority   


Umbrella - £22.70 per hour - Umbrella



Job Purpose



As a Working Denbighshire Employment Coordinator, you will work closely with employers, businesses, and partner organisations to create and promote employment opportunities for participants within the Working Denbighshire programme. You will build sustainable employer relationships, coordinate work placements, apprenticeships, recruitment initiatives, and employment opportunities, while supporting individuals to overcome barriers and progress into sustainable employment.


Key Duties/Accountabilities




  • Develop and maintain relationships with local employers and businesses to create employment opportunities.


  • Promote the Working Denbighshire Service and employer engagement initiatives.


  • Identify and secure work placements, apprenticeships, work trials, volunteering, and employment opportunities.


  • Act as a key point of contact for employers and partner organisations.


  • Use labour market information and employer feedback to support service delivery and priorities.


  • Support participants with pre-employment preparation, including interview and workplace readiness.


  • Coordinate and deliver employer engagement activities, job fairs, careers events, and recruitment workshops.


  • Work collaboratively with employers, training providers, and partner agencies.


  • Complete health and safety assessments, risk assessments, and placement agreements with employers.


  • Maintain accurate records, monitoring information, and performance data.


  • Prepare reports, presentations, and service updates.


  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, confidentiality, data protection, equality, and health and safety requirements.


  • Contribute to achieving programme targets and positive employment outcomes.



Essential Experience Required




  • Experience working with employers, businesses, or stakeholders to develop opportunities and partnerships.


  • Experience in employment support, recruitment, employer engagement, business development, community engagement, HR, CSR, or a related environment.


  • Experience generating new opportunities and managing employer relationships.


  • Experience organising events, workshops, or employment initiatives.


  • Experience working with individuals facing barriers to employment.


  • Experience working with multiple agencies and stakeholders.


  • Experience maintaining records, monitoring performance, and producing reports.


  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.


  • Ability to organise workload, prioritise tasks, and work independently.



Essential Qualifications Required




  • HNC in Business Studies or a relevant subject, or equivalent relevant experience.


  • Right to Work in the UK.


  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.


  • Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, equality, and data protection requirements.



Additional Information to Note




  • Working hours: 37 hours per week.


  • Location: East Parade, Rhyl, Denbighshire, LL18 3AH.


  • Some evening and weekend working may be required.


  • Welsh language skills are desirable (Level 2).


  • We work on bi-weekly payment schedule.
