Working Foreman - Carpentry Background

We are currently working with a well-established construction business in Norwich who are looking to appoint an experienced Working Foreman with a strong carpentry background to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is confident leading a team on site while still being happy to get involved with the carpentry and wider construction work when required.

The Role

As Working Foreman, you will be responsible for helping to oversee day-to-day site operations, coordinating trades and subcontractors, maintaining high standards of workmanship and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to programme.

You will be expected to lead by example and have a strong practical understanding of carpentry and general construction.

Key Responsibilities

Supervising and coordinating trades and subcontractors on site

*

Working hands-on alongside the team when required

*

Carrying out carpentry and associated construction work

*

Ensuring work is completed to a high standard and in line with project requirements

*

Managing day-to-day site activities and coordinating labour

*

Monitoring health & safety and maintaining a safe working environment

*

Liaising with Site Managers, Project Managers and subcontractors

*

Helping to keep projects on programme and within agreed standards

*

Checking quality of workmanship and resolving issues on site

*

Supporting the wider site team to ensure smooth project delivery

About You

We are looking for someone with:

A strong carpentry background

*

Previous experience in a Foreman, Working Foreman or Senior Carpenter position

*

Good knowledge of general construction practices

*

The ability to lead and motivate a site team

*

A hands-on approach and willingness to get stuck in

*

Strong communication and organisational skills

*

A good understanding of health & safety on construction sites

*

A reliable, professional and practical approach
