Job Description - Workshop Controller

Our client, a well-established franchise-approved car dealership based in Leominster, is seeking an experienced and professional Workshop Controller to join their busy Service Department. * Basic salary of approximately £34,000 per annum, with performance-related bonuses reaching £40,000 on-target earnings

Duties:
* Managing day-to-day operations of the workshop team, including 8+ Vehicle Technicians and apprentices
* Ensuring efficient workflow distribution idolising team skills and capabilities
* Communicating with the Service Manager to implement the best workshop processes
* Overseeing customer vehicle progress, liaising with service reception to ensure customer satisfaction
* Monitoring workshop performance against KPIs and identifying areas for improvement
* Planning and scheduling work allocation, balancing workload and skills
* Identifying training and development needs within the team
* Maintaining workshop standards in accordance with health and safety regulations
* Ensuring adherence to brand service requirements and customer satisfaction indicators
* Supporting the team to deliver high-quality repair and service standards
Requirements for the Workshop Controller position:
* Previous experience as a Workshop Controller or in a similar managerial role within an automotive service environment preferred; training will be provided to suitable Workshop Controllers
* Proven track record in an automotive aftersales role such as Vehicle Technician or Service Advisor
* Strong organisational and team management skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
* Results-oriented with problem-solving and decision-making skills
* Focus on quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction
* IT literacy; experience with CDK/Kerridge systems advantageous
* Hold a valid UK driving licence with minimal points
* Reside within reasonable commuting distance of Leominster
