Job Description - Workshop Controller - Kia Doncaster

We have a unique opportunity to join our team at D M Keith Kia Doncaster, as a Workshop Controller. This is an exciting opportunity for those who enjoy both the fast -paced environment of the workshop and have a keen eye for detail.

This role is a rare chance to be a fundamental link between our Workshop and Service administration, and to provide the highest standards of customer service, delivering a smooth customer journey both in the Workshop and out.

Our business started over 60 years ago and has been in the same family ever since. From our very humble beginnings, we have grown to be in the top 50 car dealers in the country. Across our 26 businesses we have a stable workforce of over 600 people, many of whom have been with us for years. About the Role

As Workshop Controller, you will oversee the day -to -day running of the workshop, ensuring all work is allocated efficiently and completed to maximise productivity and workshop performance. You will ensure all repairs and servicing are carried out in line with Kia brand standards and D M Keith processes, maintaining the highest levels of quality, compliance, and Health & Safety.

You will be responsible for monitoring Technician performance, identifying development opportunities, and providing feedback and support to help maintain a highly efficient and productive workshop environment.

Working closely with the Service Manager, Technicians and Service Advisors, you will manage customer expectations, deadlines, and workshop capacity to ensure a smooth and professional customer journey throughout the aftersales process.

You will play a key role in supporting the Aftersales team to maximise profitability, efficiency, and overall business performance.

Warranty Administration Support

As part of the role, you will also support Warranty Administration processes. This includes assisting with the accurate processing of warranty claims in line with manufacturer guidelines, ensuring all submissions are compliant and completed within required timeframes.

A strong eye for detail and a process -driven approach will be essential, as you will be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation for audit purposes and liaising with manufacturers regarding warranty queries or claim rejections.

About you

This role is ideal for an organised and proactive individual with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional aftersales performance. You will be confident working on your own initiative, managing a fast -paced and varied workload while supporting and motivating the wider team around you.

We’re looking for someone who is a clear and confident communicator, able to prioritise effectively and balance operational demands with an outstanding customer experience. Previous experience as a Workshop Controller or within a similar senior workshop role is essential, alongside a strong Motor Trade background at workshop or senior technician level.

Essential Requirements

· Previous experience as a Workshop Controller or in a similar senior workshop position

· Strong Motor Trade background essential, ideally from a workshop or senior technician role

· Excellent organisational and leadership skills

· Strong communication and customer service abilities

· Ability to prioritise workloads and perform under pressure

· Good understanding of workshop efficiency and manufacturer standards

· Experience supporting warranty processes would be advantageous
