Job Description - Workshop Controller / Technician

Workshop Controller / Technician - Preparation Centre
Location: Eastleigh
Salary: £45,000 + Opportunity to earn up to £125 per week in bonuses + uncapped overtime
Shift Pattern: 5 on / 5 off, 5 on / 5 off, 4 on / 4 off (only 15 working days per month)
Hours: 6:00am - 6:00pm (average 40.25 hours per week)
Full UK Driving Licence required

We are currently recruiting for a skilled and motivated Workshop Controller / Technician to take a hands-on leadership role within a busy automotive preparation centre in Eastleigh. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong technical experience and natural leadership skills looking to develop their career in a structured and forward-thinking environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily work scheduling and task delegation within the workshop

  • Monitor technician efficiencies and report on sold hours

  • Audit team performance and deliver on-the-job training and coaching

  • Liaise with the parts department to manage cost-effective repairs, including sourcing green/used parts when appropriate

  • Maximise team output and ensure the correct vehicles are prioritised for workflow

  • Drive a safety-first approach and maintain a clean, compliant working environment

  • Conduct regular team briefings, appraisals, and performance reviews

  • Support in achieving workshop KPIs and ensure adherence to company processes

  • Undertake a range of workshop technician duties as part of your role

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in a workshop or technician leadership role

  • Strong mechanical/technical background with hands-on capabilities

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

  • Confident managing people and processes in a fast-paced environment

  • Health & safety awareness and a focus on quality and compliance

  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential
