Job Description - Workshop Fitter

Workshop Fitter

Avonmouth, Bristol

Day shift, Monday-Friday (45 hour working week)

Permanent

£38,000 - £45,000

The Role:

Come join this impressive company within their Plant Maintenance team where you will be responsible for maintenance, repair, and overhaul of high-end company vehicle machinery.

As a Workshop Fitter, you will perform repair maintenance on a fleet of Telescopic Handlers and a variety of other machinery to ensure their ongoing usage by clients. You will directly be responsible for the company quality through mechanical inspection, safety checks, diesel engine repair, and quality checks at final review.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Carry out Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) and LOLER safety checks on vehicle machinery
  • Use of equipment and tools when performing maintenance review and quality checks
  • Repair Telescopic Handlers, diesel engines, and other company machinery
  • Perform scheduled servicing, general repairs, and damage assessments
  • Good communication skills to ensure safety is kept and quality does not drop

Skills required:

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent
  • Experience working on plant machinery and an understanding of engine repair
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities in a similar environment
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • CSCS card (advantageous but not essential)
