As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a Workshop Operator to join our well-established and friendly team at our modern site in Church Crookham. We are an international engineering and manufacturing company, developing and supplying specialist power, climate and electrical solutions for a wide range of industries, with customers across the UK and overseas. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and established business as part of our professional manufacturing team.
Due to the requirements of this role, you must be 21 or over and hold a full, clean UK driving license. Experience driving long-wheelbase vans would be an advantage but is not essential.
You will work the hours of Monday to Friday 7am – 4pm, with overtime available but not compulsory. In return you will receive a salary up to £34k depending on experience, plus 25 days holiday (3 to be used for Christmas shutdown), Company Pension, Private Health Care, Cycle to Work Scheme and Free Parking.
The position would suit someone with a natural technical ability who enjoys variety and takes pride in their work, basic electrical knowledge would be advantageous however is not essential. Full training will be provided for this role, however you should be technically minded and keen to learn and advance your skill set. Our client is looking for a team player with a can-do attitude to join their existing friendly team.
The Key Responsibilities for the Workshop Operator are: Workshop Activities • Service, inspect and maintain climate control and power equipment. • Carry out PAT testing and electrical safety checks. • Clean, prepare and test equipment before dispatch. • Assess returned equipment and identify repair requirements. • Assist with fault diagnosis and repairs. • Maintain accurate workshop records.
Warehouse Operations • Load and unload company vehicles. • Move and store equipment safely. • Assist with stock control and stock takes. • Ensure warehouse and workshop areas remain clean and organised. • Follow all relevant health and safety procedures.
Driving Responsibilities • Deliver equipment to customer sites. • Collect equipment from customer sites. • Complete delivery and collection paperwork accurately. • Carry out vehicle checks and ensure vehicles are maintained in a safe condition. • Represent the company professionally while on site.
Site Support • Assist engineers with equipment installations when required. • Support Connect project deployments and site activities. • Follow customer site rules, RAMS and health and safety requirements. • Report issues or defects identified on customer sites.
To be successful for this role you should have a natural technical ability and practical mechanical aptitude, a willingness to learn, strong attention to detail, goo communication skills, be reliable and self motivated with the ability to work as part of a small team.
