Maidenhead | Onsite 

Monday–Friday | 7:00am–3:30pm

What You'll Be Doing

In this role, you'll be responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, rebuild, and testing of pumps and rotating equipment, including:

Stripping, inspecting, repairing, and rebuilding pumps, electric motors, fans, and associated rotating equipment
Carrying out mechanical and electrical fault-finding to identify worn, damaged, or failed components
Producing clear inspection reports, repair recommendations, and parts requirements
Identifying and specifying replacement components including bearings, seals, shafts, couplings, impellers, gaskets, and electrical parts
Assessing incoming equipment and determining the most suitable repair, rebuild, or replacement solution
Rebuilding equipment to a high standard, ensuring correct tolerances, alignment, and assembly procedures are maintained
Conducting workshop testing following repairs to verify functionality, performance, and safety
Supporting the wider workshop team with assembly and repair activities
Providing technical support and product knowledge to internal teams and field engineers when required
Maintaining a safe, organised, and efficient workshop environment
Using workshop tools, testing equipment, and lifting equipment safely and effectively
Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining high workshop quality standards
What We're Looking For

Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar workshop-based engineering role
Strong background working with pumps, motors, fans, and rotating equipment
Excellent knowledge of bearings, seals, shafts, couplings, impellers, and mechanical assemblies
Ability to diagnose mechanical and basic electrical faults using appropriate testing methods and equipment
Experience independently stripping, repairing, and rebuilding equipment to a high standard
Strong technical reporting and documentation skills
Good understanding of workshop procedures, quality standards, and health and safety requirements
Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team environment
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Desirable experience includes:

Formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
Experience within pump service, water, wastewater, drainage, industrial, or building services environments
Knowledge of insulation testing, continuity testing, and basic motor diagnostics
Experience operating workshop lifting equipment such as overhead cranes or forklift trucks (where certified)
Previous experience working within a service and repair environment with turnaround targets
