Our client is looking for an experienced Workshop Technician to join their Fleet & Plant team based at Preston Brook Depot in Runcorn.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading infrastructure business responsible for maintaining a diverse fleet of vehicles, trailers and specialist plant equipment that supports essential services across the UK.
As a Workshop Technician, you'll play a key role in ensuring fleet assets remain safe, compliant and fully operational through high-quality inspection, servicing, maintenance and repair work. Working within a modern workshop environment and occasionally via Mobile Service Vehicles (MSVs), you'll help keep critical operations running efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
As a Workshop Technician, your responsibilities will include:
* Carrying out inspections, servicing, maintenance and repairs on a wide range of vehicles, trailers and plant equipment.
* Diagnosing electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
* Completing repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and DVSA maintenance standards.
* Ensuring all repairs are completed to at least MOT standard.
* Testing vehicle systems and carrying out road tests to verify repairs and ensure safe operation.
* Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
* Ability to work independently whilst following established procedures and safety standards.
