Type: Full-Time (40 hours), Permanent

Salary: £30,000 - £32,500

Lloyd Recruitment Services have partnered with an industrial machinery supplier in Horley, who are looking for a practical and reliable Yard Engineer to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and takes pride in maintaining and repairing industrial machinery to a high standard.

In this yard-based role, you’ll be responsible for preparing, testing, and repairing equipment, with occasional visits to customer sites when required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Service, maintain, and ensure the upkeep and presentation of machinery and equipment
• Follow manufacturers’ recommended service schedules
• Load and offload equipment in the yard
• Operate a forklift (training provided if needed)
• Book in stock and carry out off-site servicing and repairs when required
• Synchronise equipment on site as needed
• Take part in the engineers’ call-out rota (currently 1 week in 4)
• Maintain high housekeeping standards and follow all Health & Safety policies
• Work in line with company quality, environmental, health & safety, and energy management standards

Key experience:

• Relevant qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (e.g., City & Guilds, BTEC) or hands-on experience
• Full UK driving licence (towing categories preferred)
• Forklift Truck Licence is a bonus — training can be provided
• Workshop experience is an advantage
• ECS/CSCS/CPCS card is desirable but not essential
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible and adaptable to meet business needs
