Yard Manager

We are recruiting for a Yard Manager for a large national client who manufacture and supply large equipment used within industrial and construction industries.

Job Title - Yard Manager

Location - Portlaoise, County Laoise

Salary - £45k - £55k basic + 10% bonus + excellent benefits

Role

• Overseeing the daily operations of the site and grounds, managing logistics, supervising yard staff, and ensuring safety and efficiency in operations.
• Building relationships with internally with the customer service team, and externally with customers, suppliers and hauliers.
• Conducting regular inspections to maintain safety and compliance with regulations.
• Ensuring that the yard kept clean and organised.
• Developing and implementing processes and procedures for continual improvement.
• Providing training and development for yard staff and maintaining records.
• Ensuring that all team members adhere to health & safety protocols and use PPE as required.
• Driving company vehicles safely and performing vehicle and equipment inspections.
• Hands on role - attaching trucks to trailers, move heavy equipment, and coordinating transportation for material delivery.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a yard or warehouse management role.
• Strong knowledge of logistics, materials management, and safety protocols.
• Experience in freight management and transportation coordination.
• Comfortable with heavy lifting and working outdoors.
• Proficient in computer use for inventory management and reporting.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Very proactive approach and driving efficiency.
