Yard Operative

We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Yard Operative to support our production team by efficiently handling deliveries, organising stock, and ensuring timely supply of materials to the factory floor. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining smooth operations and supporting the production schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

Offloading Deliveries:

• Safely offload profile, glass, and hardware deliveries using appropriate lifting equipment and manual handling techniques.

Stock Handling & Organisation:

• Neatly stock profile materials in designated areas, ensuring clear labelling and orderliness. Place glass deliveries into appropriate job order slots within designated glass containers. Replenish hardware items at production stations as needed to minimise downtime.

Material Supply to Production:

• Bring required profile materials into the factory daily for machine operators in line with the production schedule.

Stock Control:

• Assist with stock counts twice per week, ensuring inventory accuracy and reporting any discrepancies to the Operations Manager.

Health & Safety:

• Follow all company safety procedures and use PPE as required.
• Maintain a clean and hazard-free working environment in the yard and storage areas.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar yard or warehouse role preferred.
• Forklift licence (desirable but not essential).
• Good physical fitness and ability to lift heavy materials safely.
• Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic understanding of stock management practices.
• Comfortable working outdoors and in a busy production environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work well independently or as part of a team.
