Job title: Yard Operative

Hours: rotating shifts - Monday to Friday

6am to 2pm / 2pm to 10pm

Some overtime available on nights and at weekends

Location: Belvedere / Erith

Salary after training: £34,728.00 pa inc shift allowance.

Benefits: 25 days leave + BH, health care, uniform, canteen, overtime + more

Starting money is - basic £25,103.90 + £5,194.00 shift allowance = £30,297.90 pa

Once trained c3-6 months the basic money goes up to £29,534.00 + £5,194.00 shift allowance = £34,728.00 pa

Candidates must be:

• Willing to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Work at heights
• Computer literate

This is a physically demanding and sometimes dirty job.

Yard Operative job details:

Yard Operative will work in a small team and is responsible for the safe loading of finish products onto river vessels and bulk haulage trucks and the unloading of raw materials vessels from the river.

Health and Safety, food safety, environmental compliance as well as simple basic maintenance of operations will also be a requirement.

• Responsible for own personal safety and of that of people working in the area
• Ensure safe start-up, running and shutdown of plant and machinery
• Ensure product throughput and quality is maintained to required levels
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness following GMP guidelines in the production areas
• Perform small maintenance related jobs and liaise with maintenance department
• Reporting to shift superintendent, logistic superintendent and the production management
• Accurately maintain process records
• Liaise with other process departments to ensure the whole process is running smoothly
• Self motivated with a positive attitude

Yard Operative skills and experience:

• GCSE level of education
• Good written and verbal communication
• Good computer skills
• Good mathematical skills
