Yard Operative (Counterbalance Forklift) – Rochester

Location: Rochester
Hours: Monday to Friday, 4:00pm – 1:00am
Pay: £15.00 per hour (standard hours) | £17.50 per hour overtime (after 40 hours per week)

MUST HOLD A VALID COUNTERBALANCE FORKLIFT LICENCE

We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative to join a busy team based in Rochester. This is a full-time role with an immediate start available and the opportunity to secure a permanent position for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

Operating a Counterbalance Forklift safely and efficiently.
Cutting metal tubes to specified sizes.
Loading and unloading vehicles.
General yard duties, including maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
Assisting with stock control and material organisation.
Following all health and safety procedures at all times.

What We're Looking For:

A valid External Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential).
Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, manufacturing, or similar manual role is preferred.
Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual handling tasks.
Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Reliable, punctual, and a positive team player.
Willingness to work in an industrial outdoor environment in all weather conditions.

Important Information:

Successful applicants will be required to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test before starting work.
Ongoing random drug and alcohol testing may also form part of the company's health and safety policy.

Benefits:

£15.00 per hour standard rate.
Overtime paid at £17.50 per hour after 40 hours worked per week.
Monday to Friday working pattern – no weekend shifts.
Weekly pay.
