Job Description - Year 2 Teacher



Year 2 Teacher (with Leadership Responsibilities) – Haringey, London


Are you a committed and ambitious Key Stage 1 teacher ready to step into a role with leadership opportunity? We’re looking for a dynamic Year 2 Teacher to join our friendly, welcoming school community in the heart of Haringey.

Key Responsibilities:


• Plan, teach and assess engaging Year 2 lessons that meet the needs of all learners.

• Lead a specific area of school development (e.g., reading, maths, or curriculum innovation) working alongside senior staff.

• Foster a classroom climate of high expectations, curiosity and creativity, while promoting independence, confidence and cooperation.

• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and the wider community to support children’s learning, wellbeing and growth.

• Contribute to school -wide initiatives and help shape the next phase of our journey—including celebrating diversity and maintaining our inclusive culture.


The ideal candidate will:


• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience teaching in Key Stage 1.

• Demonstrate strong classroom leadership and a passion for raising achievement.

• Be inspired by our mission to value every child, encourage difference and foster high aspirations.

• Be a team -player who thrives in a lively, caring and forward -looking environment.

• Have excellent communication and organisational skills, with the drive to lead an element of school improvement.
