A well-run Good primary in Peterborough is recruiting a dedicated Year 2 Teacher on a Part-Time basis with an anticipated January 2026 start. The Year 2 Teacher will begin planning and handover in the weeks leading to the January 2026 start, attend induction in early January 2026 and teach on a Part-Time timetable from the January 2026 start. This Part-Time Year 2 Teacher role is suitable for a practitioner who wants meaningful classroom influence while maintaining a balanced timetable.

Year 2 Teacher Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality Year 2 lessons — phonics, reading, writing and number — as the Year 2 Teacher.

• Use assessment to identify gaps and run targeted interventions as the Year 2 Teacher.

• Communicate effectively with families and contribute to enrichment and transition work from the January 2026 start.

The Part-Time Year 2 Teacher will participate in weekly planning meetings and CPD scheduled around the January 2026 start.

Year 2 Teacher Requirements

• QTS and proven KS1 experience as a Year 2 Teacher.

• Strong phonics practice and calm classroom management expected of the Year 2 Teacher.

• A collaborative and reflective Year 2 Teacher willing to participate in moderation in January 2026 and beyond.
