Are you a qualified Primary Teacher looking for a full-time Year 2 teaching position near Ashington?

Ripple Education is currently recruiting a passionate and committed Year 2 Teacher for a primary school in the Ashington area. This is a full-time position with an immediate start, initially on a short-term basis, with the potential for the placement to continue.

The school is looking for a teacher who can provide consistency for the class, build strong relationships with the children and quickly become a positive part of the wider school team.

The opportunity

You’ll take responsibility for a Year 2 class, providing high-quality teaching and creating a positive and supportive classroom environment where children can learn, develop and thrive.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging and inclusive Year 2 lessons
• Creating a positive, safe and well-managed classroom environment
• Adapting teaching to meet the individual needs of pupils
• Assessing pupils’ learning and using this to inform teaching
• Marking pupils’ work in line with the school’s marking policy
• Building positive and consistent relationships with children
• Working closely with teaching assistants and the wider school team
• Following the school’s curriculum, policies and procedures
• Following school and Ripple Education safeguarding procedures at all times

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Experience teaching within a primary school
• A good understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum
• High expectations for all pupils
• Strong classroom management skills
• Confidence with planning, assessment and adapting learning
• A thorough understanding of safeguarding
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families
• A committed, proactive and enthusiastic approach
• Availability to work full-time
