Year 3 Class Teacher – Maternity Cover
January 2027 Start | Long-Term Temporary Position
We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and fully qualified Year 3 Class Teacher holding QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) to join a welcoming primary school from January 2027 on a maternity cover basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate primary teacher with strong classroom practice who can deliver engaging, high-quality lessons and support pupils as they transition into Key Stage 2. The successful candidate will be confident in planning and delivering a broad, balanced curriculum, differentiating learning to meet individual needs and ensuring all pupils are supported to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities

Classroom Teaching: Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in line with the KS2 National Curriculum.
Curriculum Delivery: Teach across the Year 3 curriculum, including English, Mathematics, Science and foundation subjects.
Planning & Assessment: Monitor pupil progress, assess attainment and adapt teaching to address gaps in learning.
Differentiated Learning: Provide appropriate support and challenge for pupils of varying abilities, including those with SEND.
Behaviour Management: Establish clear expectations, promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment.
Pupil Development: Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development, encouraging independence and confidence.
Safeguarding: Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child protection in line with school policies.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, support staff and parents to promote positive pupil outcomes.Essential Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
Experience teaching within a UK primary school.
Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum, ideally with Key Stage 2 experience.
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
Effective planning, assessment and differentiation skills.
A commitment to raising attainment and supporting the progress of all pupils.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
A proactive, flexible and reliable approach.Assignment Details
