About the role

The Year 3 Teacher will plan differentiated daily lessons, deliver focused guided-reading and maths teaching, and assess learning to set precise next steps. The Year 3 Teacher will also support transition work from Year 2, liaise with parents and take part in whole-school initiatives. The Tower Hamlets school offers strong CPD, collaborative planning and supportive leadership to develop the Year 3 Teacher’s practice.

Key responsibilities

• Create high-quality Year 3 lessons with clear progression and purposeful differentiation.


• Analyse assessment data to prioritise intervention and measure the impact of teaching.


• Lead small-group work to accelerate progress and extend higher-attaining pupils.


• Contribute to year-group planning, moderation and enrichment activities in Tower Hamlets.


• Communicate effectively with families and participate in review meetings.

Person specification

• Qualified teacher with proven KS2 experience and successful Year 3 outcomes.


• Strong phonics and reading-teaching knowledge, secure maths subject knowledge and planning skills.


• Collaborative, organised and committed to the Tower Hamlets school community.


• Ready to commence January 2026 and take part in pre-term induction before January 2026.
