About the role

The Year 4 Teacher will prepare differentiated lessons that stretch pupils of all abilities, deliver guided reading and maths mastery sessions and run targeted booster groups when required. The Year 4 Teacher will keep accurate assessment records, participate in curriculum development and liaise with parents to support pupil progress. In Richmond, the Year 4 Teacher will be part of a collaborative team focused on consistent high standards and professional learning.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality Year 4 lessons that combine knowledge acquisition with application.


• Analyse assessment data to identify gaps and deliver high-impact small-group work.


• Lead and evaluate intervention programmes, adapting approaches based on impact evidence.


• Collaborate with colleagues to moderate standards and contribute to cross-curricular projects in Richmond.


• Engage with families to share progress and next steps and support wider school events.

Person specification

• Qualified teacher with proven Year 4/KS2 experience and evidence of raising attainment.


• Confident in curriculum design, behaviour management and assessment for learning.


• Strong communicator, organised and reflective, committed to the Richmond school community.


• Able to take up post January 2026 and to participate in pre-start induction before January 2026.
