Year 4 Teacher | Slough

A welcoming primary school in Slough is seeking an organised and creative Year 4 Teacher to join the Key Stage 2 phase from January 2026. The Year 4 Teacher will plan and teach sequenced lessons that build knowledge, fluency and reasoning; the Year 4 Teacher will also run small-group interventions and contribute to year-group moderation. The Year 4 Teacher post in Slough includes induction and collaborative planning time before January 2026, enabling a smooth start in January 2026.

The Year 4 Teacher will use assessment to set precise next steps, design engaging cross-curricular units and work with teaching assistants to scaffold learning. The Year 4 Teacher will play a full part in the Slough school’s enrichment and reporting cycles.

Responsibilities

• Plan sequenced Year 4 lessons that develop conceptual understanding and application.


• Deliver targeted group support and monitor its effectiveness in accelerating progress.


• Work with colleagues on curriculum design, moderation and cross-phase projects across Slough.


• Maintain clear records of attainment and communicate next steps to parents and carers.


• Support whole-school events and contribute positively to the Year 4 phase culture.

Person specification

• Qualified teacher with recent KS2 experience and confident Year 4 practice.


• Excellent planning, assessment and behaviour-management skills with a reflective approach.


• Collaborative, enthusiastic and available to begin January 2026 in Slough.
