Year 4 Teaching Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Sunderland, working specifically within a Year 4 class.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is looking to make a positive difference to their learning, confidence and development.

The Role

As a Year 4 Teaching Assistant, you will:

* Work closely with the class teacher to support the Year 4 class.

* Provide support to pupils during lessons and classroom activities.

* Work with individual pupils and small groups where additional support is required.

* Help deliver catch-up activities and targeted interventions.

* Support children with their reading, writing, maths and wider learning.

* Encourage pupils to become more confident and independent learners.

* Help create a positive, engaging and inclusive classroom environment.

* Assist with classroom preparation and other general teaching assistant duties.

About You

The school is looking for someone who is:

* Caring, patient and enthusiastic about working with children.

* Confident supporting pupils in a primary school environment.

* Able to build positive relationships with children and staff.

* Reliable, proactive and willing to get involved.

* Passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning.

* Able to work effectively as part of a team.

* No formal qualifications are required, although a Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.

* Previous experience working with children or within a school setting would be advantageous.
