Year 5 Teacher

We are currently recruiting for a confident and committed Year 5 Teacher to cover a period of maternity leave at a welcoming primary school in Rochester.

This is a fixed-term contract, working 3 days per week, and would suit a teacher who is confident taking full ownership of their class and delivering high-quality teaching.

The Role

The successful Year 5 Teacher will have full responsibility for their class, including:

Planning and preparing lessons across the curriculum

Delivering engaging and effective teaching

Managing the classroom and maintaining high expectations

Assessing and monitoring pupil progress

Differentiating work to meet individual needs

Completing relevant planning, assessment and marking

Working closely with school staff to ensure consistency throughout the maternity cover period

Taking full day-to-day responsibility for the Year 5 class

Requirements

QTS is required

Previous primary teaching experience, ideally within Year 5/KS2

Confident with independent planning and classroom management

Strong organisational and communication skills

Able to commit to 3 days per week

Driver preferred due to the school's location

Willing to commit to the duration of the fixed-term maternity cover
