Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming and well-established primary school in Hillingdon seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 6 Teacher to join their team from January 2027. This is a full-time, long-term position for the remainder of the academic year, offering the opportunity to make a real difference during an important stage of pupils' primary education.

The school is looking for a teacher who can create a positive, purposeful classroom where pupils feel supported, motivated and confident as they approach their transition to secondary school. You will be joining a team that values effective teaching, strong relationships and high expectations for all learners.

The Role

As the Year 6 Teacher, you will take responsibility for a class as they work towards the end of Key Stage 2. Your responsibilities will include:

Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons across the Year 6 curriculum.

Preparing pupils for their KS2 SATs, building confidence and securing progress across reading, writing and mathematics.

Using assessment effectively to identify gaps in learning and adapt teaching accordingly.

Delivering targeted interventions and additional support to help pupils reach their potential.

Creating a positive classroom environment with clear routines, high expectations and consistent behaviour management.

Supporting pupils' personal development, independence and readiness for secondary school.

Working closely with colleagues, support staff and senior leaders to ensure pupils receive the best possible provision.

Maintaining effective communication with parents and carers around progress and achievement.

The Ideal Candidate

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Has recent experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6.

Has a secure understanding of the KS2 curriculum and SATs preparation.

Is confident using assessment to inform planning and improve pupil outcomes.

Demonstrates strong classroom management and the ability to engage learners of different abilities.

Is organised, approachable and able to work effectively as part of a team.

ECTs with suitable KS2 experience are also encouraged to apply.

Outer London pay scale, MPS to UPS depending on experience.
