Position Overview 


The Yoga Teacher is a member of a multidisciplinary team that uses their training and knowledge in yoga to plan and lead yoga groups for clients receiving eating disorder treatment. Yoga groups integrate body awareness, mindfulness, meditation, breathing practices, yoga postures, and relaxation. 


 


Schedule



  • (2) 0.5 FTE, 20hrs/wk, opportunities available

    • Exact schedules to be determined based on candidate availability. Looking for 20 hours of availability through the week to teach 1 hour yoga groups that occur during the following general time frames.

      • Mondays: Late Morning - Late Afternoon

      • Tuesdays: Late Morning - Late Afternoon

      • Thursdays: Late Morning - Late Afternoon

      • Fridays: Late Afternoon

      • Saturdays: Late Morning - Afternoon

Compensation Disclosure



  • Starting Yoga Teacher range between $30.00 - $35.00 Hourly 


Final Compensation offered will be within pay range based on qualifications/experience met for the position


 


 


How Yoga Teachers Empower Recovery 



  • Responsible for planning and leading yoga groups for clients with eating disorders in inpatient, residential, intensive programming, and outpatient settings. 

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care. 

  • Maintain timely documentation in compliance with The Emily Program policies and regulatory requirements. 

  • Maintain and enhance knowledge of yoga practice through self-study and CEU opportunities. 

  • Maintain at all times the confidentiality of proprietary information, which includes but is not limited to, trade secrets, sensitive company information, and generally any company information not made available to the public. 

  • Maintain at all times the confidentiality of former and current Emily Program clients’ protected health information, as directed by state and federal law, and Emily Program policy.  Additionally, maintain confidentiality in any position with access to employee personal information. 

  • Participate in monthly yoga teacher meetings. 

  • Attend meetings with manager or interdisciplinary team (per Site Director or Clinical Manager). 

  • Complete all mandatory trainings. 

  • Maintain an organized and clean environment for yoga practice. 

  • Maintain and manage yoga supplies for the site. 

  • Perform all other duties as assigned. 


Qualifications


Education Qualifications: 



  • Minimum 200 RYT certification required through Yoga Alliance  

  • Maintain RYT certification through Yoga Alliance  


 


Professional Qualifications:  



  • 1 year of experience preferred 

  • Training in trauma-sensitive or trauma-informed yoga preferred 


 


Other Qualifications:     



  • Employees at Residential or Inpatient sites in North Carolina or Georgia are required to have a current CPI certification within 30 days of hire.

  • Solid interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to develop and maintain productive relationships 

  • Demonstrate initiative and exercise good judgement (e.g, in starting tasks, asking questions, identifying and discussing problems, ability to structure own work, stay on task) 

  • Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing priorities 

  • Shows passion for our business, clients, and values 


Workplace Environment: 



  • Standing 70-75% and Sitting 25-30% 

  • Bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping or crouching when appropriate 

  • Lift, carry, push or pull up to approx. 40 pounds (supplies, etc.)
