We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Young Person’s Resilience Worker to join our West Sussex Young People’s Service. This rewarding frontline role involves supporting young people affected by substance use and related vulnerabilities to reduce risk, build resilience and achieve positive, sustainable outcomes.

 

You will work directly with young people delivering high-quality, evidence-based interventions within a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency setting. The role requires a proactive and flexible approach, meeting young people where they are, both practically and emotionally.

 

Requirements

 

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car (Essential).
  • Experience working with young people in a supportive capacity.
  • Knowledge of substance misuse, harm reduction, and safeguarding practices.
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.

 

Where: This role will be based across West Sussex
Contract: 1 year Fixed Term Contract
Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week

 

Full-time hours at Change, Grow, Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.









Responsibilities






About the role:

 

  • Support young people from entry into the service through their treatment journey
  • Deliver screening, assessment, psychosocial interventions, and integrated care planning
  • Identify and respond effectively to safeguarding concerns
  • Reduce drug and alcohol-related harm for individuals and the wider community
  • Advocate for access to partner services
  • Promote positive, holistic outcomes in health and wellbeing, reducing risk and building resilience

 

About you:

 

  • Experience working with young people and understanding of the challenges they face
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, including Fraser Guidelines and Gillick Competence
  • Understanding of substance misuse and experience in a related field
  • Experience supporting young people affected by drug and alcohol use
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and meet deadlines
  • Effective team player with strong interpersonal skills
