Job Description - Youth Justice Case Manager




7-month contract position with a local authority


Summary




  • This is a 7-month contract position with a local authority, working as part of Sefton’s Youth Justice Service. The role involves collaborating with various agencies to support children and young people, aiming to prevent their entry into the criminal justice system. When involvement occurs, the focus is on helping them make positive changes and achieve better outcomes.



Responsibilities





  • Collaborate with partners to support children and young people at risk of offending.

  • Assess the needs, risks, and circumstances of children and their families.

  • Develop and implement intervention plans to prevent offending and reduce risk.

  • Support children subject to statutory interventions to achieve positive behavioral change.

  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.

  • Manage risk and vulnerability, ensuring appropriate measures are in place to protect both the child and the public.

  • Ensure all actions align with safeguarding policies and youth justice legislation.


Essential Experience





  • Significant post-qualification experience in assessing and supporting children and families.

  • Experience in developing and delivering intervention plans to prevent offending behavior.

  • Experience managing risk, including risk of harm and safeguarding concerns.

  • Experience working in youth justice, criminal justice, or related services.




Essential Qualifications





  • Recognized professional qualification in one of the following:

    • Social Work

    • Diploma in Probation Studies

    • Dip HE Youth & Community

    • Relevant degree in youth or criminal justice (with associated experience)





Additional Information





  • Working hours: 36 hours per week.

  • DBS required.

  • Location: Trinity Road, Bootle, Merseyside, L20 3NJ, United Kingdom.

  • Bi-weekly work schedule.

  • The role closes on 29th May 2026, apply ASAP.
