The Youth Justice Case Worker will join the Youth Justice Service on a 3-month contract with a local authority, earning £256.43 per day through an umbrella company. This role is pivotal in curbing offending and reoffending among children and young people. The successful candidate will handle a caseload of young individuals referred by the Police or sentenced by the Courts. Responsibilities include conducting thorough assessments, crafting intervention plans, and providing effective support to foster positive outcomes.
Responsibilities
Oversee a complex caseload of young individuals engaged with the Youth Justice Service.
Conduct detailed and high-quality assessments using the AssetPlus framework.
Create, execute, monitor, and revise intervention plans tailored to individual needs and risks.
Keep precise and timely case records in line with Youth Justice National Standards, policies, and procedures.
Ensure compliance with court orders, out-of-court disposals, and intervention programs.
Implement targeted interventions to reduce offending behavior and prevent reoffending.
Encourage desistance from crime by addressing underlying factors such as education, employment, emotional wellbeing, family relationships, and community involvement.
Utilize trauma-informed and restorative approaches when engaging with young people and families.
Assist young people in repairing harm caused by offending behavior and making positive life changes.
Requirements:
Essential Experience Required
Prior experience in Youth Justice casework.
Experience working with children, young people, and families exhibiting offending behavior.
Experience managing a caseload within Youth Justice or a related statutory service.
Experience in completing high-quality assessments and support plans using AssetPlus or similar frameworks.
Essential Qualifications Required
Level 4 qualification or higher in a relevant field such as:

Social Care
Probation
Criminology
Criminal Justice
Social Work

Working hours: 36 hours per week
Enhanced DBS required.
Location: High Street, Kingston upon Thames, Greater London, KT1 1EU, United Kingdom
Hybrid work pattern with a minimum of 3 days office or Court based.
