Job Title:
DEPUTY MANAGER
Full time Position
Reporting to
General Manager
Purpose
To assist and support the General Manager in the running of a store or a department in line with company objectives and ensuring company standards. To supervise the shop floor and coordinate staff activity.
Customer:
• Has a full customer care focus, overseeing team training to ensure customer care standards are always high to build customer loyalty.
• Resolves possible conflicts with customers, always prioritising customer satisfaction.
Processes:
• Ensure the stockroom is efficiently organised.
People:
• Manager people: recruitment, absenteeism, feedback, conflict resolution, motivation.
• Manage in-store time budget effectively. Set the ideal rotation by ensuring we have the right people at the right time in each position.
• Focus on productivity by monitoring processes and taking corrective action when necessary.
• Monitor the onboarding plan for new hires, managing team development, store succession planning and performance.
Product:
• Help boost store sales and performance
• Analyse daily sales rankings, new product performance, zero-sales items, and subfamily weight distribution planning adjustments based on furniture profitability, adapting product placement to store needs and available stock levels.
• Analyse and cross-check data with their store profiles and sales.
• Monitor sales by ambience, tables and furniture to get the most out of the stores strategic sections.
• Ensure that cleanliness and tidiness protocols are always followed in the store.
• Perform the Store Manager’s duties in their absence.
Health and Safety
• To ensure good housekeeping is maintained throughout all areas in the store and to communicate with the management team in case and incident happens
• To be aware of the risks employees and customers are exposed to and to be aware of safe work practices and company procedures to overcome them
• To know who the appointed First Aiders are in the store and to understand and promote the role of the Safety Champion
