Job Description - Hr Advisor

We are currently recruiting for a HR Advisor for a full-time, permanent role based in Erdington, Birmingham. This is a fully site-based role. Working hours are 830am to 5pm Monday to Thursdays, and 830am to 4pm on Fridays.

Role Duties

  1. To maintain all HR systems ensuring data and records are accurate and up to date
  2. Reporting data and creating excel spreadsheets
  3. Developing job descriptions and person specifications
  4. Preparing job adverts, checking application forms, short listing and sifting CV's, interviewing and selecting candidates
  5. To produce and issue offer letters and employee contracts
  6. Liaising with Hiring Managers for vacancies in Head Office and in Stores
  7. Introduce new employees to the company and walk them through the induction
  8. To ensure all new starter paperwork is completed and relevant information provided to Payroll
  9. To provide line manager with new starter documents to ensure a smooth on boarding process for the new employee
  10. Supporting and leading Formal Meetings, such as disciplinary, grievances and flexible working applications
  11. Organisation of HR documents in preparation for meetings (invite letters and outcome letters)
  12. Advising employee and Line Managers on all HR related queries
  13. Confident in chairing ER related meetings such as disciplinaries
  14. Support in revising Company policies, procedures and employee handbook
  15. Respond to reference requests
  16. Ensure electronic and paper based personnel files are maintained and filing/archiving is completed in a timely manner
  17. Support Payroll when required

Candidate Specification/Experience

Previous experience of working within a HR environment
Familiarity with the full recruitment and selection cycle
Advanced in excel and able to do Macros, complex formulas, V-Look Ups and combining multiple cells of data
Good verbal and written communication skills
Well-organised
Up to date knowledge of legislation
Confident and able to prioritise workloads
