Position Summary

Samsung is looking to embark on a new chapter within our retail strategy. Our ambition is for Samsung KX and Premium Retail to become iconic destinations to discover and experience a fusion of London’s hottest culture in a premium environment. Open to all, powered by Samsung’s connected innovation. The spaces will neither look, nor feel like traditional stores (or SIS) but should celebrate the possibilities of our technology. It will focus on the customer experience - not just the product - to tap into people’s passions and tell our story in ways that connect emotionally with consumers. These spaces will be the embodiment of “One Samsung” and will bring all product categories under one roof for customers to explore.

The focus is to lead Samsung’s Retail strategy, by introducing new initiatives that communicate the benefits of our products to our current and future consumers’ lives. Our team is on a mission to transform physical retail and introduce omnishopper solutions that improve the customer journey. The successful candidate will be joining a newly formed team, who are working with the ultimate goal of developing the best experience possible for building our brand love and helping consumers do what they can’t. This will innately bring massive reward and the chance to be a part of something unique in the UK and ultimately across the whole of Samsung globally.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the first ‘One Samsung’ Omnichannel Retail strategy for Samsung UK

  • Establish Samsung KX and Premium Retail sites as industry-leading Retail environments

  • Build innovative retail experiences that exceed our customers’ expectations both for Launches and in-life

  • Create new trail-blazing retail propositions, based on consumer and industry trends

  • Accountable for P&L including Total Revenue growth of Samsung KX, Harrods & Selfridges (Click & Collect, Attribution, CX, Microsite)

  • Create a bold “Centre of Excellence” and blueprint to support our Channel partners, including Retail Innovation, Design, Operations

  • Develop and own the Business Intelligence strategy and enhance internal Retail Insights capability and develop an Insights hub

  • Review and enhance the customer journey and services, in collaboration with DTC and CX team

  • Develop online-offline strategy to drive conversion, Samsung KX, Harrods & Selfridges

  • Achieve the service standards and improve the overall consumer experience to ensure C-SAT, NPS and Mystery Shop uplift

  • Lead the team to deliver exceptional retail design and in-market execution with Channel Partners, ensuring compliance

  • Work with the Digital & Social Media Marketing leader to bring best-practice omni journey to our Channel Partners

  • Primary PIC for S.com BSD (UK), EO & Global D2C Retail, develop and lead concepts and case studies to be used as best-practice / Global roll out – be viewed as a “Spotlight Market”

  • Accountable for enhancing our agency approach for staffing, design and operational partners, ensuring stand-out delivery and agency performance scoring

  • Set and lead the Retail team people strategy and empower team to deliver stand-out results across GTM, Operations and Data

  • Bring inspiration and fresh thinking, to push the boundaries, pilot new innovations and achieve global firsts

Skills and Qualifications

To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • A bold leader who can inspire others

  • Experience in a director/key leadership role

  • Extensive Retail Marketing Experience; ability to set a clear vision, strategy, goals and plan of action

  • Operational Experience of what it takes to lead a successful P&L and Brand Retail space & premium “shop-in-shop”

  • Track record for development and in-market execution of engagement-enhancing retail design

  • Experience of delivering meaningful retail innovation
